Marianne's Response

Small plant.

Hi , hope your well. This is a laui succulent. It was about 4” when I bought her. She’s growing but she’s not getting big leaves. These little leaves keep stacking up fine but how can I get my succulents to grow bigger leaves? This is happening with a lot of my echeverias. They are planted in regular miracle grow soil with pearlite and coco-peat. Drainage is wonderful. I can’t figure this one out. Please help my poor tiny tall plants. Thank you. Tammy.

I suspect these sun lovers are not getting enough light. Succulents like bright light but can be burned in hot sun so the perfect placement is where they are shaded from the hottest sun in the afternoon but have bright light all day. Most often succulents grown indoors will have smaller leaves as they do not get direct sun on their foliage. During the summer months you may want to pamper them by moving your potted succulents outside to fatten up before winter. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
