Specimen plant for sunny location

Hi,
I live on the south hill of Puyallup WA. I want to plant an area that is in full sun all day and not protected at all. It will be a triangle shaped garden with one side to the street and one side is a fence( corner of my lot). What would you suggest as a specimen plant with at least 3 seasons of interest. We prefer the plant not get taller than 6 feet. One side does go up hill a bit. Size is about 15 feet on the two sides. Thank you for your help

Sounds like a fun project and you have all winter to dream and scheme. One idea is to do a color theme with a plant such as the  Nandina 'Seinna Sunrise' a peachy bronze heavenly bamboo as the feature plant and then a low growing ground cover plant such as the evergreen bear berry or kinninickick as the color of this groundcover has a bit of a bronze cast with peach tinted spring blossoms. Add some daffodils with peach centers and in the summer use coral geraniums or peachy pink petunias. The Nandina also comes in a purple shade  (Plum Passion) and a red version  (Firepower) so you could go in a different direction with your color scheme with a different variety of Nandina. For a more traditional look use a classic evergreen such as Dwarf Alberta Spruce or even boxwood kept neatly clipped so you can fill in with spring bulbs and summer annuls. It will be lovely no matter what you decide. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
