Spot composting
I spot compost with thrown out vegetable waste such as peels and scraps. Often, there is a lot of citrus peel and coffee grounds. Should I separate these from the rest to avoid making soil too acidic in spots or just bury it all together and let the worms do their work?

Just bury it and let the worms do the mixing. It takes a long time and lots of additives to change the ph or acidity of the soil. Wood ashes work more quickly than orange peels or coffee grounds but it is still a process that takes years, even using lime or wood ashes. Congrats on learning to "spot compost" or to bury your garden refuse in a pit to decompose out of sight. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
