Spots on fig leaves

1. There are spots on the leaves of my fig tree.
What is causing it?
How to treat it? Picture attached.
2. The leaves on my holly shrub turned brown and the shrub died. It has spread to the next holly. What are potential causes and treatment?
Thanks!

Marianne's Response

The spots on your fig leaf look like rust disease. This is a fungal infection caused when water splashes onto the surface of the leaves or if there is poor air circulation. Remove all infected leaves to keep the rust from getting into the fruit. Keep the foliage dry. If the problem persists you will need to use a fungicide spray. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
