Mystery yellow flower
I found this yellow flower in my yard. Any idea what it is? Located in Enumclaw.

Wow what a lovely yellow bloom. I am going to guess that it is a penstemon due to the shape and texture of the foliage and pointed flower spikes but I do not recognize the yellow color on pestemons so perhaps it is something else. We should both keep our eyes open this summer for similar plants growing at a nursery or display garden and perhaps then we will know for sure the name of your mystery plant. I suspect it is a perennial so snip off the bloom when it fades and expect the plant to die down in the winter then return in the spring for another summer of sunny blooms. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
