Strange white spots on leaves
Hi! I’m hoping you can help us out. We have a great, very large tree in our backyard that provides ample shade and privacy. We live in Northwest Indiana. Any assistance you can provide in identifying what the white spots on our leaves may be and any way to treat it (if harmful to tree/yard) would be greatly appreciated!

White spots on tree leaves is often the sign of a fungal infection such as mildew brought on my cool, moist weather. The good news is the tree will most likely survive even if it begins to drop leaves. Dry weather usually solves the problem. You should bring a sample of the leaves to a local nursery or extension agent. They will be able to ID the problem in person with more accuracy. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
