Marianne's Response

My best guess as to why the third hydrangea is stunted is a root issue since the environment for all three is the same. ...similar water, shade and soil. A rodent such as a mole or vole or hard packed clay in that area could be causing slower root growth. The good news is that hydrangeas are easy to transplant so don't be afraid to dig up your sickly hydrangea, check out the soil and roots and either move it or replant in soil amended with organic matter. Your white hydrangea in the background does look gorgeous. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
