Yes! Succulents make fine houseplants as long as you do not overwater and give them plenty of bright light. Some succulents such as the round Echeverias, the deep green jade and orange firesticks (actually a form of euphorbia) will rot and die when the first frost hits. Bring these indoors a few weeks before the first frost date. Other sedums are winter hardy if they have good drainage and can survive temperatures down to 20 degrees depending on the variety. I leave the hardy succulents outdoors, place the tender ones inside near a window and water them only once or twice with just a tablespoon of water per plant. I try to keep them cool and I do not fertilize in the winter. This keeps them dormant until they go back outside in spring when all danger of frost is passed. If over the winter my succulents indoors become tall and leggy I cut them back in May and root the tops in potting soil. The cut trunk will sprout new growth as soon as the weather warms up.
