Marianne's Response
Sungron-question
Hi,Marianne- I’m a rookie at growing squash except for the notorious zucchini. I got some nice sized Hubbards this year, but only one per vine. Is this normal? I think I fertilized well and gave them plenty of water.

Congrats on your super-size squash - even if it was unintentional. The reason that you had such few squash was most likely lack of a pollinator when the flowers were forming. If you want to try hand pollinating the blossoms next spring using a paint brush or cotton swap just act like a bee and flit from blossom to blossom gathering pollen on your brush and putting it into another flower. Shaking the blossoms gently on a windy day also helps to better spread the pollen and get more fruit on the vine. Here's to more squash next summer,
Keep growing,
