Marianne's Response

Sungron’s Question

I have two pots of basil growing side by side, one of which is flourishing. The other is also growing well, but the leaves are starting to turn really light green at their centers. They get lots of sun. Could this be an issue of over watering or can I correct it through fertilization?

Marianne's Response

Did you fertilize and water exactly the same? If so then the clue to this mystery is that one may be getting more sun and shading the other or some other environmental difference - unless you think a guest could have emptied a drink in one of the pots. Basil loves the heat but will lighten up if it needs fertilizer. Try not to get the leaves wet when watering especially if the sun is shining. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
