In the absence of bees, is it worthwhile to try to hand pollinate tomatoes?

Yes - all you need to do is shake the vines when they are I bloom and that will help disperse the pollen. Some gardeners even use a tiny paintbrush to move the pollen from one flower to another. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
