Marianne's Response
Sungron’s Question
As a total rookie with blueberries, I planted four bushes two years ago. This spring, a couple of the bushes produced lots of berries. They are still green after a couple of months. Am I behind the power curve or do they ripen later in the year?

Don't worry - blueberries ripen at different times of the year depending on the variety. You must have some of the late ripening varieties so just keep the plants watered and remember to cover the shrub with bird netting or tulle just as they start to turn blue. Many first time blueberry growers are surpised when every berry disappears just as they color up - the birds have been eyeing those berries for months now and are more excited than you are about tasting the first harvest. I smell blueberry muffins coming from your oven soon. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
