Not so fast. Baking soda is very basic so it will make your soil less acid and moss loves acid soil. However it would take too large of an amount at too high of a price to do an entire lawn. A much better bargain is to use dolomite lime or Super Sweet garden lime to change your acid soil to closer to a neutral pH. But moss also takes over if the area is too shaded, too moist and of poor fertility. So limb up the trees, aerate and improve the soil to really get to the grass roots of the problem.
