Marianne's Response
The question of why flowers change color has been asked a lot this year - and you can blame the weather. The unusual weather patterns in April and May caused many different blooming plants to reinvent themselves and it is more than just rose plants that are shifting colors. Snapdragons, clematis and petunias have also tried something new in a response to very chilly or very warm weather. Enjoy the new look and expect something that could look different again in a year. Fertilizer and minerals in the soil also can change flower color - but this year I suspect the weather is too blame. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
