Feed established plants the recommended rate on the package or 3 tablespoons for a 2 gallon pot sized plant. Or figure 3 tablespoons sprinkled over an area that is 4 feet square. If feeding indoor plants use half this amount. Work the Osmocote into the top 1 to 3 inches of soil and water regularly. That's it and your plants will be fertilized for the next 6 months.
