Planting in the heat

I live in the South (Atlanta, GA) and will be planting roses for a friend this weekend. Any additional tips on planting in the heat?

Many thanks.

When planting in the heat, water and shade are the key. Try to plant in early morning or the evening - not during the hottest time. Soak plants well before and after planting and shade them with an umbrella or shade cloth during the afternoon heat for a few days. A mulch on top of the soil will also help.
