How to hand pollinate squash and pumpkins
I have various squash and pumpkins that blossom. But, they aren’t producing this year. What can I do? I don’t seem to have any bees or other bugs to help.

If lack of insects is the reason your blossoms are not pollinating, you can easily do the job yourself. Just take a small paintbrush and swab the inside of one flower and then move the pollen onto a second bloom going from flower to flower the way a bee would visit. Giving the flowers a gentle shade when it is windy may also help spread the pollen to other blossoms. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
