Removing limbs from a tall tree

Hi, I have a Leland Cypress that I planted about 3 feet from a shed. The tree is getting tall. I’ve cut a few lower limbs but not sure if that’s best for the tree. Can I keep trimming back the limbs as it gets bigger or is it time to move it?
I know someday, we’d like to replace the shed.

Thank you for sending the photo - and the answer is you can continue to remove the lowest limbs for a few more years but this tree is meant to become a gigantic monster 100 feet tall and 25 feet wide and can grow 3 feet a year. It will take some trimming to keep it from growing into the fence and the shed. If you can move it to a location where it can stretch out and spread those evergreen branches that would be best for the tree. I have seen Leland Cypress trimmed into neat hedges but this takes much discipline as they need close clipping several times a year and constant cutting can weaken the tree. There are several different cultivars of Leland Cypress that grow in more compact forms such a the Emerald Isle Leland Cypress that grows just 6 to 8 feet wide and under 30 feet tall. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
