I live in Zone 9B. My rosemary has black growths on some of the stems. Those stems are not producing leaves. There is no odor and most of the stems are close to the ground. Even tho I have raised the bed and added gravel into the soil to enhance drainage, I’m thinking it is a fungus.
Looking on line produced no results (except for your site). Thanks for your advice.

You live in a warm area so it is likely your Rosemary plants are suffering from a fungal infection. The most practical way to handle this is to cut back the infected stems so that no black parts are left. Even if this means shortening the stems to stumps just an inch tall. Rosemary hates cool weather, rain and humidity. Cutting off the infected parts of the plant encourages new growth and as the weather warms this new growth will be less suseptible to mildew and fungus among us. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
