Lifespan of tomato plants
How long will tomato plants produce? I planted some this spring and they produced well during the spring and most of the summer. The plants have slowed down considerably, but still appear healthy. Will they continue to produce in the fall or should I start over with new plants?

That all depends on what type of tomato plants you have. The determinate type will produce just a few months and then turn yellow and decline. These are the more compact or dwarf types. The tall and sprawling tomato varieties will produce until a frostâbut you will need new plants after about 6 months even if there is not frost. Sounds like you have the determinate type so new plants will be needed. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
