Too hot for Hot Lips salvia?
My Hot Lips salvia has lost much of its bright red color and is now blooming only white in color. I have it planted in a clay pot. Was wondering if maybe the plant is in some stress over the hot weather we are encountering. Your thoughts…

I feel your disappointment as the same thing happened to my Hot Lips salvia. Luckily the hummingbirds don't seem to mind the all white and all red blossoms. Flowers will change color when they are stressed or as they mature so I am guessing we will both just have to live with the color change until we buy new Hot Lips salvia plants to replace the older ones that overwintered.
