I attended one of your talks at the Seattle Garden Show this past February and you were giving away cuttings of a black pussywillow. I placed mine in water and it has nicely rooted and is now ready to be planted outdoors. Have you any idea how tall it will grow?

Congrats on rooting your black pussy willows! Now stand back because these members of the Salix family can grow up to 5 feet tall and as wide if given the right spot with moist soil. You can harvest the stems each spring to enjoy the pussy willow catkins and this will help keep them lower growing. You can also try growing the new plants in a container that you keep well watered.
