Marianne's Response

Tomato Leaves

A few of my tomato seedlings have variegated leaves. Should I be concerned? Plants are still in my greenhouse waiting to be moved to the garden in mid May.

Maybe. Variegated leaves on tomato are a sign of viral infection. However, from your photo I think it looks more like damage from cold water or thrips or cold night temps more than a disease. I suggest you pull off all distorted leaves then wash your hands so you do not spread the possible virus. If the leaves continue to mottle  even if you avoid wetting the leaves and keeping the tomatoes warm then it is more likely the plants have a virus. There is no cure for the various viral infections of tomatoes and they can spread to other tomato plants.  Here is hoping your tomato plants make a full recovery once the ugly leaves are removed.
