What to do with a flowering rhubarb plant

My rhubarb already has flower pods on top. What should I do?

You can pull off the flowering stalks now by twisting at the base of the stock and that will keep the edible stems coming a bit longer. Are your plants very young or very old? Did you use a lot of fertilizer? Sometimes rhubarb will bolt or send out blooms due to the weather conditions. Don't worry too much about this. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
