I love my tri-color beech tree but here is what you need to know:  This is a fast growing large tree. It may be happy for only a few years in a container.  Maybe a decade in a huge planter box. It does get wholly aphid every spring but the critters seem to stay on the beech leaves and leave my other plants alone. Aphid can drop honeydew onto cars parked beneath them.
