Could This Unknown But Pretty Shrub Be a Poinsettia?
While walking to our vehicle, we spotted this shrub at the base of a tree in the shade, in a public park. We were careful to remove one plant, took it home and planted it in a pot. It was smallish a few weeks ago, but since being repotted and kept in dappling shade, it’s growing quickly. It reminds us of a pointsettia. Can you identify it? We live in SE Georgia and have never seen one before,

Thank you for the photo - it does look like a poinsettia plant or at least a similar member of the euphorbia family. As the days become shorter the leaves should turn more red. By Christmas, you might want to send us a holiday update of your new plant. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
