Marianne's Response
Drooping tomato plant
I have one tomato plant that is drooping. Other than that it looks healthy. Surrounding tomato plants look good. The soil is very moist. Could this be the problem?

Yes, moist soil around a drooping or wilted plant often means the plant has had too much moisture and so the roots are now rotting and unable to suck up water. Do not water unless the top two inches of the soil is dry - you will need to poke your shovel or finger into the soil to test this. If the tomato continues to be limp and declines in health remove the entire plant roots and all. Just in case I am wrong about the too much moisture diagnosis and the problem is really an infection (either a virus infection of bacterial infection) it would be good to remove the stricken plant so it does not infect the others.
