vivianna’s Question
A friend of mine is giving me a small raspberry bush from his yard. I guess it does well because of the soil. I have an area on the side of the house that I plan on putting this bush. What is planted there are lilacs. Is it ok to plant this raspberry bush in between these lilacs?

Sure - but the raspberry will do best in full sun so I hope the lilacs will not be shading the berry plant. There is a new dwarf raspberry plant out called \"Raspberry Shortcake\" that stays small and compact and will even do well in a pot. Most raspberry plants turn into wild vines that need to be controlled by tying them to horizontal wire supports. Just wanted to warn you before yours begins to steal real estate from the lilacs. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
