If you are concerned about standing water on your lawn try this; Dig up sod in area and set aside. Dig down 8 to 12 inches in area and add layer of drainage rock into ditch-like depression. You can also add drainage pipe to create a French Drain. Now replace soil and sod. This will help move standing water to lower spot on property.
