What is a “sun” Hellebore?

I have a hellebore that blooms all year round. It blooms during 90-degree weather in summer and cold February. Have you any idea what variety it might be? All the gardeners in Olympia and Lacey garden clubs have never heard of a hellebore that blooms in scorching heat in full sun. I took the attached picture today, August 1, 2023

Wow, what an interesting plant you have. The hellebore variety that loves heat and dry soil is the Corsican hellebore (Helleborus argutifolius). I grow this native of Corsica in my own garden in full sun and gravely soil. Your plant does not look like the true species however because the foliage in the photo you sent is not as pointed as a true Corsican hellebore. I suspect you have the more compact varieties either 'Janet Starnes' with some pink on the foliage in spring or 'Pacific Frost' which has a paler flower color. Now just to keep things interesting, hellebores will drop seeds and sprout new plants that are often different from the parent plant. So in gardens across America, there are unique, one-of-a-kind hellebores that have volunteered from seed.  You seem to have a real winner with a long bloom time so enjoy and look around the base of the plant for seedlings.  Unique plants that pop up are just one more reason why gardening is so fun and interesting.
