It looks like the sedum 'Autumn Joy' one of my favorite perennials. It will survive the winter  and needs good drainage and would love full sun but will do fine in part sun. The green buds will turn pink then rust then black in the winter. In spring you can cut the stems down to two inches and the plant will grow and bloom again by the end of the summer. Bees and butterflies love this plant. It does great in pots or in the ground but is very upright so not really suitable for a hanging basket. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
