The shiny green foliage looks like a volunteer English laurel plant but the size of the leaves and the flower buds or berries resemble a Pieris japonica or lily of the valley bush. Did you plant it or did it pop up on it's own? How big is it? Did it bloom earlier in the spring? Were the flowers white and bell shaped?
