A lot of them died cause I don’t know much about them . My flower plants especially not blooming local nursery told me to give them food so I give it 2 weeks back & today I am going to do again as directed on bottle. How much time I gave them to bloom?? I am always still confuse when to water? Can you suggest some basic rule when to water.when to give food or any other thing todo as must for a plant. Appreciate your help.

Hang in there you will have your green thumb back soon. To water, poke your finger down one inch into the soil and add water when soil is dry to touch. Hanging baskets and containers may need water every day. Trees and shrubs in the ground only during a drought. I use Osmocote slow release plant food on all my plants so I don't have to remember to fertilize. Your local nursery will sell Osmocote or check a big box store. Then just add the granules to the soil around your plants. It will feed for six months. As for your plants not blooming it could be summer heat and lack of water. It takes up to 4 weeks for some plants to make new growth and flowerbuds. Some plants like perennials only flower once a year. I can help you better if you send a photo of the plants in question. We all kill some plants but we can learn from our mistakes so Keep Growing, Marianne Binetti
