Why are there white spots on my Japanese Maple?

My Japanese Maple has white spots on it has been like that for a day.

Those spots look like environmental damage not a disease. White spots could be from chemical drift from roof cleaning or weed spraying or even car washing if a cleansing agent hits the foliage on a sunny day. As long as the spots do not spread to other leaves just ignore them, pull off the leaves or consider them a beauty mark. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
