Recommendations for organic fertilizers

I would like to use organic fertilizers and moss control on our lawn especially to make it a safe place for my dog to walk on. We used an organic fertilizer once that worked great but its main ingredient was chicken manure and smelled terrible. Can you recommend some products for us to try? Thank you!!
