Posted by Debbie Nighswonger | April 19, 2021

I have a Katsura tree in a large flower bed that I would like to underplant. What do you recommend? The soil is moist and sandy but we added a large amount of composted soil to plant the tree in as well as the perennials I have growing around the tree in a flower bed. I live in a zone ...

Potting depth for black eyed susans

Posted by Andrew Beaudoin | April 15, 2021

Hi there! I am building a simple trellis (about 90in tall). I would like to sew black eyed susan seeds and encourage them to vine up the trellis. I'll need to use containers and I'm wondering how deep they should be. I read online that they can have very deep root systems, so maybe it's not a good choice. If ...

Should I trim or let it grow? 3-4 months ago I trimmed this plant way back, root the trimmings in water. This is the original miniature plant I purchased 3 years ago. Do I keep trimming it? The tallest is already drooping and it is propped up by the others? I don't think it's supposed to trail down and or ...

Help with hydrangea

Posted by Cheri johnson | April 6, 2021

Can you give me suggestions for hydrangeas that get morning sun until noon? The area is along my house between it and the sidewalk. About 4 feet. I’ve been looking at PERFECTION and STAWBERRY SHORTCAKE. I need 4 or 5. Also are there some that look great together, like more than one kind that complement each other? I live in ...
