Spraying pepper plants with epsom salt and water

I have a great garden and everything grows good...everything but my peppers that is. Someone told me to mix epsom salt with water and spray it on the plant. Will this work?

I learned that Iowa State Horticulture recommends Borax to kill Creeping Charlie. If I do that, can I still plant other flowers (annuals) in that soil which now has Borax residue?

Snails in California

This spring I have found 2 snails (slugs with shells) in my garden outside of Buckley. My niece found one in her garden in Enumclaw. I have NEVER seen a snail in my garden in 40 years! Is this a new invasion? Or have I just been lucky? Slugs are hard enough to control, what about snails?
