I heard you speak at windmill Gardens and you talked about the best white hydrangea for the Pacific Northwest. I’m looking for the name. I’m going to plant this in some afternoon sun.

What to plant in a spot that is both wet and dry

Posted by Stacey Long Collins | September 20, 2019

Hi Marianne, I'm in a quandary and hope you can offer suggestions. I have an area at the end of my driveway that is really dry in the summer and really wet in the winter and I don't know what to plant, therefore it's looked like this (see photo) all summer long. Posted by K Summers | September 2, 2019

My very pale baby blue hydrangea used to be the largest headed variety in my garden (9-12 inches across.) This year the flowers are tiny, and the heads are only 5-7 inches across. Plus the gorgeous color is gone and they are a light lavender/periwinkle on the outer petals with pale green centers. We have not added anything to the ...

Immature Hydrangea blooms

Posted by Thomas Nelson | September 2, 2019

My hydrangea never has had mature blossoms. It blooms but never shows the big flowers that I see in other people's yards. I've put osmocote at the base of the plant to no avail. How can I get the big mature blossoms that others have?

herbs

Posted by Nancy Johnson | September 2, 2019

I know that its important to pick herbs early in the day to capitalize on their flavor and essential oils, but I'm not sure if its too late to do so in August, or if there is a "best month". What do you look for in fresh herbs to indicate its a good time to harvest or that they've gone ...
