Hi Marianne! We are in Manorwood in Puyallup. The previous owners never put down good soil for the front lawn/garden beds. We have had an excavator company come out and remove about 6 inches deep of the existing soil. Frustrated

Why cannot I grow seedlings like Radishes, Beets Carrot etc. All I have been getting for the past two seasons are tops. No fruit or veggies. My potatoes, garlic, onions are fine. Just the seedlings are terrible. Tomatoes are also prolific as are peppers and cucumbers.

I recently read your advice to water tomatoes when the ground was dry an inch or inch and a half below the surface. Is it reasonable to assume that overwatering will result in loss of flavor when they ripen?
