Hello-I have everbearing strawberries in a raised bed in Steilacoom. Do I "mow them down" now (or clip them down with hedge pruners) and add mulch for the winter? Also should I clip off the extra runners? Any other suggestions for winterizing everbearing strawberries. Thanks.

We had our front yard landscaped with bushes and trees, drip irrigation and used stone instead of wood chips or mulch. How do you suggest we fertilize with Osmocote? I don't really want to have to pull back all the stone on all those plants everytime we need to fertilize. Thanks! lgobrien@charter.net

Marianne, Can you tell me when is the best time to dig up and transplant raspberry bushes? The weeds especially that terrible Chervil has over-taken them.
