Do Cedar Leaves Make a Good Mulch?

At this time of year, the cedar trees around my yard routinely drop bracts as a part of their 'fall cleanup'. Is that material a useful mulch to be placed around acid-loving perennials? Can it be used in my vegetable garden compost?

Hi, I want to move some plants around. I live on the south hill of Puyallup, Wa. When can I transplant my Viburnum (David's ), Red twig Dogwood(Cornus stolonifera), butterfly bush, and Lavatera (red rum). I made some errors in plant placement, some plants are not seen due to others being taller and in front of them. Thanks

I'm noticing in some locations of the yard mushrooms are growing. In another spot mushrooms have taken over. When I pull these ones up they poof. What can I do to control the mushrooms and protect my plants?

I have two Salvia types the woody hotlips and a purple that has a more traditional stalk. Do I cut both back for the winter? If so, when and how far back? I saw the previous comment about covering with leaves etc. to prevent rotting...thanks for that tip.
