Orchid

Posted by rebecca murphy | February 23, 2022

I think my orchid is a moth orchid. It was blooming when I got it about 18 months ago. It is blooming again now. My concern is the leaves. They seem slightly limp. The leaves are almost laying on top of each other rather than standing up and apart. The leaves look healthy but would be more attractive if they ...

Ok to cut back?

Posted by Cathy McLeod | February 11, 2022

Hi Marianne! After the cold temps and snow in Gig Harbor in January, my grasses and hardy fushias are not happy. Is it ok to cut them back now? Or should I leave the foliage on, as kind of a protection for more cold weather to come? As always, thanks! Cathy

If I remove volunteers from perimeter of my raspberry shortcake raspberry plant, in a whiskey barrel...will it affect the main plant for blooming? Thanks for any ...

We are having problems with crows pulling up tuffs of lawn I believe looking for grubs. I’ve been reading about Beneficial Nematodes. Was curious if you have ever used them to get rid of grubs. Or would you suggest another idea?

I have two large container pots by my front door. It faces west and gets very hot afternoon evening sun throughout the summer. The plants in both pots have died after years of pampering. What is a good drought tolerant, container plant for a location like this? Thanks, Chris

Annabelle Hydrangea

Posted by TomandLinda | January 19, 2022

I have a Annabelle Hydrangea that is about 60+ years old. I know it blooms on new wood and I have pruned it some over the years. I recently read an article stating it could be pruned to the ground or should I stop at about 18”. It’s looking a bit spindly. I’m located in the Seattle area.
