Right Osmocote for Lettuce

Hello, today we planted lettuce in pots and used potting soil and my wife wanted to use your Osmocote Plus outdoor and indoor up to 6 months because of the higher nitrogen, 15-9-12. alkaline soil

I have slightly alkaline soil. All my plants are alkali-loving. On the package of Osmocote Plus that I just bought, it says suggested usage is for acid-loving plants. Is this going to work for me, or will it just kill or stunt all my alkali-loving plants? Is there something else I should use?
