What is the best ground cover to pair with red carpet sedum?

I planted a large area with red carpet sedum which is doing so-so, but I dislike the spidery stems. Is there another ground cover that could be planted among these to make it more appealing? Something hearty and pretty to lighten up the dark red and help hide those ugly spider stems... Thanks very much

Using sawdust as mulch and compost

I had five large polar trees removed with stumps to below ground level. Now I have beautiful pile of fluffy sawdust with some soil (10%) mixed in by the stump chewer.
