voles

Posted by dede terns- thorpe | June 18, 2024

I've had voles and moles around for years. Now, I realize what people were complaining about with them. I'm having a terrible problem with voles, and I have a huge number of hostas. They're eating the roots of the hosta as it comes out of the ground. Wondering, if this will kill the hostas? I'm so upset, any ideas?

tuberous begonias

Posted by Sandra Schumacher | June 13, 2024

I started my tuberous begonias too early, apparently. Due to weather they are still in little peat pots. One has grown to be about 18-20 inches tall. Do I plant as is or cut back? Thank you.

Hardy cyclamen

Posted by Pat Hergert | June 9, 2024

My Hardy cyclamen have died back for the summer but the large corms keep popping up to the surface. Should I leave them alone or push them back under the surface? I’m worried that they will get too wet with summertime watering or that they might get raked up by mistake. Thank you!

Hi Marriane, I saw you on YouTube with a sick ivy topiary. Could you please help me determine why my wine and rose bushes are dying? They seem to be drying branch by branch. I am giving them a lot of water and fertilizer. I appreciate your help.

I submitted this on May 19, 2024; trying again. If I keep this plant in water, it continues to grow. However once I plant it, leaves always start turning yellow and die. Any help would be appreciated.

Good morning, Marianne! I've a small peony that I've had for several years. It's not blooming this year. Do you have any thoughts as to why? It appears to be getting enough sun. I gave it some bulb fertilizer earlier this spring. Thank you! Denise Alvord

Posted by ireneadams | May 18, 2024

Hi Marianne, I purchased five mixed plant (sun-loving) flower baskets. Four of them are doing very well, but one of them started dying a few days ago. They are in the same sunny location, and I water all of them the same amount of water. Any ideas? I am including before and now pics. Thank you
