Which cover crops should I use to amend my soil in the Northwest?

I was thinking of giving my garden soil a break this summer and planting a ground cover/cover crop instead. Is this an okay idea and if so what crop would you recommend in the Northwest? Thanks!

What is the best way to remove garden moss so that I can plant a vegetable garden?
Posted by lindaxray | March 11, 2014I live in Lacey, WA. I'm starting to plant my sugar snap peas, but my garden spot is full of moss this year. What can I use to remove the moss, and still plant a vegetable garden? The neighbors hedge is getting taller, and there is less sun there every year.
