I have a bleeding heart that each year blooms beautifully in a shaded area and now with no blooms, I am wondering when I can cut it back. Secondly, my oriental poppies have done their thing. When can I cut those back? Thanks so much. Enjoy reading you in the Tacoma News Tribune.

I purchased a Raspberry Shortcake plant earlier this spring from my local nursery. I planted it in a pot and placed it on my deck. It has grown to be fairly large but no signs of any blooms. I have two pots of basil growing side by side, one of which is flourishing. The other is also growing well, but the leaves are starting to turn really light green at their centers. They get lots of sun. Could this be an issue of over watering or can I correct it through fertilization?

Hi, as a follow up to the laurel hedge question, you asked why I wanted to trim them. It's because they have started to intrude on my perennial garden. So I only need to trim one side of the hedge.

Hi Marianne- Help, I lost a stand of delphinium is the rain storm today, each were staked with bamboo about half way up. Any hints, I have one stand remaining, how to insure it? The one I lost had just started to open and the other is still tight, i think it shed the heavy load more easily. Thanks, Julie

The HOA has a number of arbivitaes on both sides of our entrance. A few of them have brown spot. I asked an arborist that was in the development and he said there a critters that are eating bugs that are in the bark. Another home owner asked her landscaper and was told the trees are diseased.
