Small white spots on grape tomatoes
Posted by | August 31, 2015Hi, Marianne, I had a great year with grape tomatoes, but have noticed that some of the last ones had little white/transparent spots inside the skin like blisters that were about to were about to burst through. Could this be a symptom of overwatering?
Cutting back dahlias
Posted by crff | August 31, 2015Most of my dahlias fell over during the wind storm. I'm not looking to stake them back up (they're in my backyard so I'm not worried about aesthetics), but I'm wondering if I can cut them back now? I usually don't dig up the tubers over the winter, but I was thinking of doing this, and online websites said it's ...
Roses blown over by wind
Posted by Christy Nicandri | August 30, 2015Yesterday's winds took down my Cecile Brunner to the ground. It was mainly growing over a shed roof and supported at the base by a trellis. My question is how much of the rose can I prune back in order to get it at least upright? She's a very top heavy girl!

I've put down cardboard inside the bed over the grass to kill the grass. My question is: Is there anything I can put on top of the cardboard to hasten the decomposition of the cardboard? I am to get my soil delivered ...
When to pick squash
Posted by woltzen | August 16, 2015Hi, I planted squash for the first time this year. How do you know when they are ready to pick? One is a spaghetti squash, the other I'm not sure (the seeds were given to me). The mystery one looks like the top is growing over the bottom. I'm on the south hill of Puyallup. Thanks
Vines for hot, sunny spots
Posted by woltzen | August 16, 2015Hi, I live on the south hill of Puyallup. I would like a vine that will grow up an 8 foot post. It will get full sun. I prefer one that will be at least green all year, but one that dies back in the winter will do. Thanks
