No fruit on Raspberry Shortcake plant

I bought a Raspberry Shortcake plant in the spring. It is in a large container. It has lush foliage, looks healthy. No fruit. Is it because it is the first year? It will be outside all year. Is there any special soil amendment/fertilizer that I should use to hopefully get berries next year? And when should I apply it?

Black Beauty Eggplant won’t produce

My Black Beauty Eggplant blooms, then the blossoms fall off, never producing. Is it a plant that needs two in order to fertilize? And why are blooms after flowering, fall off?

Aphids on kale

I am trying to grow Kale in a large pot. Within days I see holes in the leaves and what I think are aphids on the bottom side of the leaves. (tiny white spots.) Can I spray the plants with a solution of white vinegar? Also will I have similar problems with my chard I also planted in a pot?

Invasive ground cover on weeping willow

Hello Marianne A Weeping Willow tree outside of my window has an invasive ground cover surrounding the base of the tree. Does this affect the health of the tree? Should it be removed? (See attached photo). Your thoughts will be appreciated. Thank you. Jana

Can I plant magnolia grandiflora near a retaining wall?

I want to plant a magnolia grandiflora 'little gem' in my yard near a retaining wall. I have heard that this tree can have extensive root growth at 4 times its height. I have not been able to confirm this on any of the local plant sites.

How to encourage female flowers on acorn squash

I am growing acorn squash. The plants look great, but I am only getting male flowers. How do I entice the female flowers to start growing? I have gotten a couple female flowers that grow to about 1/4 of an inch and then they die. I need help!
