Use of Caseron

Posted by John Reeves | January 17, 2018

I have a lot of maple trees around me that drop their "helicopters". I want to prevent them from germinating. I use Caseron for this. When is the best time to use it? After all the leaves are off in the fall or during the winter/early spring before they germinate and start growing?

Posted by Thomas Nelson | January 4, 2018

You answered an earlier question for me re adding osmocote to my heleborus. . I have removed all of the dead and diseased looking leaves and now I see some blossoms beginning to show. But of course I haven't found your answer. Should I sprinkle the heleborus with osmocote now, Jan 1, 2018?

Fig tree shoots

Posted by Ronsung | December 23, 2017

Should I prune the vertical shoots that rise from the main branches and bottom of the trunk? Most of them point straight up and don't produce. I wonder if they aren't just sapping from the energy that could be producing figs. Thanks, Marianne

Roses

Hello Marianne, Our daughters went to school together in Enumclaw (Corrine Lee). We moved to Tacoma the end of June and there was a rose bush here that has bloomed all summer. Beautiful red and yellow. It's still blooming so I have not cut it back. Now that we've had some frozen nights, is this bad? Or could I let ...

Getting rid of corn seeds

Posted by woltzen | December 19, 2017

Hi, I left some sweet corn in my garden this fall, so a lot of the kernels fell onto the soil. I want to plant a different crop this year. How do I prepare the soil to prevent the corn from germinating along with my new crop? If I cover the area with black plastic would that work to sterilize ...
